A father whose two-year-old boy fell to his death at a luxury hotel in Cyprus has been ordered to pay a fine of 3,000 euros, equivalent to about £2,500.

Joshua Foster failed to notice that a window was open when he placed his young son next to it at the King Evelthon Beach Hotel and Resort located in Chlorakas.

The toddler fell a distance of nearly 40 feet from the fourth floor on July 12, which marked the very first day of the family's vacation, according to details presented at the Paphos District Court.

Foster, who is 37 years old, pleaded guilty to causing death through a reckless, rash, or dangerous act and received his sentence from the judge on Friday morning.
