Alia Bhatt became the latest actor to join the Durga Puja festivities at the North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja Samity in Mumbai. She visited the pandal with her close friend and filmmaker Ayan Mukerji, wearing a magenta pink saree paired with a turquoise blue blouse. Her festive look featured puffed sleeves, gold bangles, matching earrings, a bindi, and a hair bun decorated with pink and blue flowers. Pictures from the venue captured her posing alongside other devotees attending the celebrations.

The visit followed a series of festive appearances at the same pandal, where her husband, actor Ranbir Kapoor, had earlier sought blessings and performed the song Kabira alongside singer Harshdeep Kaur. Ranbir had visited the pandal on Mahasaptami, accompanied by Ayan, wearing a silk embroidered maroon short kurta and cream trousers. During his visit, Ranbir bowed before the altar while a priest applied a red tilak to his forehead, and he later interacted with the gathered crowd and photographers.

The North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja Samity holds deep personal significance for Ayan, whose grandfather, producer Sashadhar Mukherjee, helped establish the pandal in 1948 alongside other family members. Commonly referred to as the Mukherjee family Durga Puja, the event is organized by extended family members including Kajol, Rani Mukerji, and Tanishaa Mukerji, serving as an annual gathering spot for figures from the Hindi film industry.

Aside from their close friendship, Ranbir and Ayan share a professional history spanning over a decade. Ayan directed Ranbir in his 2009 feature debut, Wake Up Sid, as well as Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, and later collaborated with both Ranbir and Alia on the 2022 fantasy film Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva. Both actors continue to balance extensive upcoming film projects following the festive celebrations.
