New Delhi: Toyota Kirloskar Motor is set to introduce the facelifted Glanza on October 14, 2026. The revised premium hatchback aims to bring updated exterior styling, additional comfort and safety amenities, along with a more fuel-efficient petrol engine. Ahead of the official introduction, Toyota released a teaser highlighting the forthcoming visual modifications for the vehicle.
The refreshed hatchback continues to compete in India's competitive premium hatchback segment, facing rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20, and Tata Altroz. The updated vehicle intends to maintain its established practicality while incorporating cosmetic and mechanical updates.
The initial teaser showcases a reworked front end featuring an enlarged grille with honeycomb patterns and chrome highlights. The Toyota badge has been moved to the body-colored panel positioned above the grille, while a prominent chrome strip stretches across the front to link the headlamp zones. Additionally, redesigned front fog lamps contribute to a modernized look, complemented by potential new 16-inch alloy wheels, whereas the rear styling is expected to remain largely unchanged.
Inside the cabin, the updated Glanza is anticipated to keep its familiar dashboard configuration while introducing new convenience additions. Possible upgrades encompass ventilated front seats, a wireless smartphone charger with built-in cooling features, and a revised Clarion sound system. Furthermore, Toyota might incorporate an advanced driver assistance systems package, representing a notable safety enhancement, though final equipment details will be disclosed at the release.
A primary mechanical revision involves the anticipated adoption of Maruti Suzuki's Z12E 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol motor, succeeding the outgoing K12N four-cylinder unit. Although its output of 83bhp and 112Nm of torque is marginally lower than the current generation's 90bhp and 113Nm, the newer power plant focuses on enhanced fuel economy.
A factory-installed CNG variant is also expected to carry over, alongside a five-speed manual transmission and an available AMT option for the standard petrol models. Official output figures, gearbox pairings, and efficiency ratings will be confirmed during the event.
Presently, the Toyota Glanza retails between Rs 6.73 lakh and Rs 9.99 lakh ex-showroom, and the upcoming iteration may feature adjusted pricing based on the implemented technological and mechanical enhancements. Full details regarding the variant lineup and final costs will be revealed tomorrow.
