A satirical political outfit called the Makhi Janta Party has emerged online following a recent remark by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, drawing parallels with the rise of the Cockroach Janta Party, which began as a satirical response to earlier remarks and grew into a movement.

The group claimed to have amassed over 4 million views and more than 330,000 followers on Instagram within a 72-hour period. Its social media page identifies a student named Aaryan as its founder and president, while online posts indicated the outfit was seeking out spokespersons.

Account information shows the page was created in June 2021 and underwent multiple username changes before adopting its current moniker. According to its posts, the name stems from the Chief Justice's observation during a court hearing that authorities cannot use a hammer to kill a fly while questioning the rationale behind blanket public transport shutdowns during recent protests.

The newly formed entity also expressed solidarity with the Cockroach Janta Party and student activist Neha Bora, who has been staging demonstrations against the Chief Election Commissioner. In an online statement, the outfit praised Bora's determination and emphasized that questioning authority and demanding accountability remain core components of democracy.

Furthermore, the Makhi Janta Party stated it was attempting to reach out to the Cockroach Janta Party to explore potential coordinated action or a common platform, subject to a mutual agreement.

In a separate statement signed by its founder, the outfit questioned the recent detention of movement leaders following a flag-hoisting demonstration at Jantar Mantar. Arguing that designated protest sites should allow voices to be heard effectively, the group reiterated its stance on peaceful public participation and democratic rights.
