New Delhi: Tens of thousands of protesters gathered near Mandi House for the 'March for Democracy' called by the INDIA bloc toward the Supreme Court, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls and large-scale voter deletions.

Student groups including the Students Federation of India, All India Students Association, and National Students Union of India joined the demonstration alongside opposition leaders and political parties. After assembling near Mandi House and moving through Barakhamba Road, key opposition figures filed a petition at the apex court regarding the electoral roll issues.

The demonstration took a creative turn as students and participants dressed up in superhero costumes, including Batman and Superman masks, alongside posters, whistles, and drums to show solidarity with the leadership. Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge also wore a Batman mask handed to him by party leader Rahul Gandhi in support of the participating students.

Protesters carried placards with slogans criticizing the electoral revision process and calling for accountability amid a heavy security deployment. Several attendees expressed surprise that law enforcement allowed them to assemble for hours without detaining them, noting that previous demonstrations over recent days had resulted in swift detentions and police cases.

Protesters and student activists emphasized their determination to demand a fair electoral process and voiced concerns over a perceived lack of response from authorities. As evening approached, the demonstration began to disperse after INDIA bloc leaders departed toward the Supreme Court in a bus to complete their official petition filing.
