OnePlus has unveiled the release schedule for ColorOS 17, its upcoming mobile operating system. The software will make its initial debut on the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Pad 4 on October 29, 2026, before expanding to additional smartphones and tablets in scheduled phases running through the first quarter of 2027. This latest update introduces a redesigned visual interface, new artificial intelligence capabilities, and performance enhancements designed to maintain long-term device responsiveness.
The upcoming software release coincides with a broader shift in strategy by OnePlus, which is transitioning from OxygenOS to ColorOS as part of a deeper integration with Oppo. The company notes that this unification is intended to streamline software engineering, accelerate update delivery, and enhance overall quality.
Under the published rollout schedule, eligible hardware will receive the software in structured waves from late 2026 through early 2027. The OnePlus 15R, OnePlus 13, and OnePlus 13s are slated to receive the update on October 30, 2026. November 2026 brings support for the OnePlus Open, OnePlus 13R, OnePlus 12, OnePlus Nord 6, OnePlus Nord CE6, and OnePlus Pad 3.
The rollout continues in December 2026 for the OnePlus 12R, OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition, OnePlus 11, OnePlus Pad 2, OnePlus Nord 5, OnePlus Nord CE5, OnePlus Pad Go 2, and OnePlus Pad Lite. Finally, the first quarter of 2027 will cover the OnePlus Nord 4, OnePlus Nord 3, OnePlus Nord CE4, OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite, OnePlus Nord N6, OnePlus Nord N5, and OnePlus Nord N3 Lite. The manufacturer notes that distribution occurs in batches, meaning exact availability can fluctuate based on specific device models, geographical regions, and carrier networks.
ColorOS 17 incorporates a Living Flow Design framework featuring fluid animations, updated visuals, and heightened interaction responsiveness. OnePlus asserts that the system can preserve over ninety percent of its original fluidity after six years of simulated testing, even when device storage reaches ninety percent capacity.
The software package also embeds a suite of artificial intelligence tools. An AI Mind Pilot feature assists with file and photo organization alongside travel itinerary generation. An AI Photo Agent introduces natural-language photo editing capabilities, while AI Mind Space compiles saved documents and video links into searchable repositories. Additionally, AI Call Guard aims to detect potential fraudulent activity, including synthetic voice simulations and artificial intelligence face swaps.
Users can check for the update on their devices by navigating to the settings menu, accessing the system or about device section, and selecting the software update utility. The company recommends connecting to a stable Wi-Fi network, verifying adequate battery charge, and backing up critical personal data prior to installation. Because the deployment occurs progressively in batches, users whose devices do not immediately show the update are advised to check back at a later time.
