An unprecedented cyberattack has disrupted the refrigeration systems of at least 380 supermarkets across France, causing significant operational challenges and the loss of perishable inventory. The incident specifically targeted a Danish software platform used to monitor and manage cooling units in commercial stores.

According to reports from French broadcaster BFM TV, hackers managed to remotely manipulate the digital infrastructure governing the temperature controls. The disruption caused refrigeration units to fail, forcing some retail locations to throw out large quantities of spoiled fresh and frozen produce.

Industry analysts and authorities are currently investigating the security breach to determine the full extent of the damage. As of yet, no group or individual has claimed responsibility for the cyberattack, and the perpetrators remain unidentified.
