Technology As Power to Empower, Renewable Growth, and Global Supply Chains at Economic Forum

Addressing the Bloomberg Economic Forum hosted in India, the speaker articulated a vision centered on transforming power into empowerment across technology, data, knowledge, and innovation. Emphasising inclusive growth, the address highlighted India's digital public infrastructure, startup ecosystem with over 2.5 lakh ventures, and direct benefit transfers via the JAM trinity that lifted 25 crore citizens out of poverty over the past decade. On the energy front, renewable capacity increased nearly fourfold from 75 GW in 2014 to around 300 GW, meeting Paris Agreement targets nine years ahead of schedule. The speech also addressed global challenges, including supply chain bottlenecks, critical mineral pressures, and the emergence of artificial intelligence. Highlighting a first-quarter economic growth rate of 7.8 per cent, foreign exchange reserves exceeding 700 billion dollars, and sweeping structural reforms like GST, simplified labour codes, and insolvency laws, the address reaffirmed India's commitment to global collaboration, multilateral initiatives like the International Solar Alliance, and sustainable progress.
