The Supreme Court directed the authorities to review barricading across Delhi and sought a response from the government to allegations of illegal detentions and excessive police force during protests over demands for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar's resignation.

The court emphasized that peaceful protesters cannot be illegally detained except in accordance with the law, particularly in areas beyond those covered by prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita.
