Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first 15-kilometre stretch of the Chennai Metro Rail Phase 2 network on October 11. During the launch event, he experienced the new transit system firsthand by sharing a metro ride with Vijay from Poonamallee to Porur Bypass.
