A sudden flash flood in the Chumnubri Rural Municipality of Nepal's Gorkha district swept away at least 35 houses and several bridges on the morning of October 11, 2026.

The severe flooding along the Budhi Gandaki River caused widespread destruction across multiple villages. In response to the escalating danger, local authorities issued urgent warnings advising residents living in downstream communities to relocate to higher ground and safer areas immediately.

Rescue and relief operations are currently underway, including the deployment of helicopters to assist the affected region. Officials confirmed that water levels in the river remain high, but no casualties have been officially documented so far as monitoring and emergency response efforts continue.
