Pregnant Journo Alleges Assault by Rahul Gandhi at Rally, BJP Attacks Congress

A political controversy has broken out after the Bharatiya Janata Party accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of assaulting a three-month pregnant journalist during a rally in New Delhi. The journalist, identified as Richa Parashar, recounted the incident from a hospital bed, stating that she was shoved and fell while carrying out her reporting duties. According to her account, she extended her microphone during the chaotic event, after which she was pulled and pushed, causing her to fall onto stairs. The BJP condemned the incident, claiming Rahul Gandhi's slogans regarding women's rights have been exposed. BJP leaders, including national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari, visited the hospitalised reporter to register their support. The report notes that broadcast visuals show massive chaos at the demonstration site, though specific moments of the alleged physical shove remain unclear.
