Actor Mrunal Thakur has addressed speculation linking her to filmmaker Atlee's upcoming movie Raaka, though she offered no direct confirmation of her involvement. Speaking to the media, the actor revealed that she has not signed a new film in nearly nine months, explaining that she is waiting for a script and role she can genuinely connect with.

While discussing her break from signing projects, Thakur clarified that the hiatus is not due to a shortage of scripts. She noted that she is receiving plenty of offers, but she simply does not resonate with the narratives currently being produced in the industry.

As she focuses on promoting her latest release Pooja Meri Jaan, Thakur emphasized that choosing a project requires careful consideration. Because a film can demand around 120 days of shooting, she wants a role that delivers creative satisfaction and allows her to leave a lasting impression on audiences. She added that she will officially announce her next project on social media rather than feeding into ongoing speculation.

Raaka is anticipated as Atlee's next major venture, shaped as an ambitious international action drama featuring Allu Arjun in the lead role alongside Deepika Padukone and Keerthy Suresh. The large-scale production marks a first-time collaboration between the director and Allu Arjun, and is reportedly planned in two parts with the initial installment eyeing a 2027 theatrical release.

The project recently drew attention after setting a world record for the highest number of individuals motion-captured in real time, involving 37 performers captured concurrently in a single session. Despite the widespread speculation surrounding the high-profile feature, Thakur's remarks leave her casting status unconfirmed.
