Kanpur: A 37-year-old man sustained severe injuries requiring dozens of medical stitches following a violent family altercation in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur district. The victim, identified as Rajneesh, was hospitalized after the incident on Friday.

The dispute reportedly began when Gayatri’s son visited the home of his aunt, Suman, who is married to Rajneesh. An argument broke out between them, leading Rajneesh to physically assault his nephew. The boy subsequently informed his mother about what happened, prompting Gayatri to go and confront Rajneesh and his household.

Tensions quickly escalated during the confrontation, transforming a heated verbal exchange into a physical brawl. According to accounts of the episode, Rajneesh removed his clothing in anger, after which Gayatri pushed him to the ground and bit his genitals, causing serious trauma.

Hearing his screams of pain, Rajneesh's father, Ramswaroop, along with a neighbor, rushed to the scene to intervene. He was initially transported to a local community health center for medical attention.

Due to the critical nature of the trauma, medical staff at the health center transferred Rajneesh to Hallet Hospital in Kanpur. Surgeons at the facility treated his wounds and administered 55 stitches.

In the aftermath of the altercation, Rajneesh's wife, Suman, filed a formal complaint against Gayatri and her husband at the local police station. Pushparaj, Gayatri's husband and Rajneesh's elder brother, was reportedly traveling back from Ahmedabad upon receiving news of the incident.

Senior police official Krishna Kant Yadav confirmed that an official complaint has been registered. Authorities stated that a formal investigation is currently underway and further legal steps will be determined based on the findings.
