A 25-year-old man from Bihar has died after a car allegedly struck him and dragged him for approximately 100 metres following a dispute regarding vehicle speed in Pragathinagar, located within the Electronics City police station limits, during the early hours of October 21.

The victim was identified as Ranjit Kumar Sahu, who was employed as a cook at a paying guest accommodation in BTM Layout. Although he received medical treatment for severe injuries at a private hospital in Madiwala, he ultimately succumbed to his condition, according to law enforcement officials.

Information provided in a police complaint by the victim's friend, Nitish Mukhiya, indicates that Sahu had traveled to Electronics City to observe the Dasara festival. After celebrating with acquaintances, he and his companions were walking toward the residence of the complainant's brother in Pragathinagar to spend the night.

While the group was crossing the street, a white compact sedan reportedly approached at a high rate of speed. When Sahu and his friends gestured for the driver to slow down, the vehicle's occupants allegedly reacted with anger, executed a U-turn, and came back to confront them.

The initial confrontation prompted Nitish to call additional friends to the location, resulting in a heated verbal exchange between the two parties. The car's occupants then allegedly tried to drive the vehicle directly into the group. While the others managed to step out of the path, Sahu was struck.

According to the complaint, the automobile ran over his legs and dragged him for roughly 100 metres before the occupants left him stranded in the middle of the Hosur service road and escaped from the area.

Sahu sustained critical injuries to his head, chest, right leg, and other regions of his body. The Electronics City police have filed a formal case against unidentified individuals based on the complaint and initiated a manhunt to trace those responsible for the incident.
