More than 6,000 Delhi Police personnel and 220 companies of the Central Armed Police Forces are being deployed in the New Delhi area ahead of the Cockroach Janta Party's proposed Lehra Do Tiranga march. Security has been heightened across key locations, and surveillance has been reinforced with newly installed CCTV cameras. The demonstration was proposed for Friday evening at Central Park in Connaught Place, though law enforcement authorities stated that no permission had been granted for the event.

The extensive security deployment encompasses Connaught Place, Rajiv Chowk, Central Park, Jantar Mantar, Palika Bazaar, nearby metro stations, and other sensitive zones throughout Lutyens' Delhi. Additional police personnel have been drawn from various districts to preempt any potential law-and-order disruptions. Barricades have been erected at strategic points including Patel Chowk, ITO, Sansad Marg, and around Connaught Place, with officers focusing on securing commercial entry and exit routes without halting public transit entirely.

A senior police official noted that 5,000 additional personnel have been kept on reserve from outside districts. The earmarked Central Armed Police Forces companies will cover New Delhi alongside adjacent districts, border sectors, and critical installations. Thirty companies are scheduled for deployment across three daily shifts, with provisions to double that strength to 60 companies per shift if crowds grow significantly or the protest extends into the night hours.

To enhance oversight, more than 10 new CCTV cameras have been set up in and around Central Park and Rajiv Chowk to monitor attendees and record footage for potential violations. Meanwhile, the New Delhi Municipal Council announced that Central Park will remain shut to the general public for administrative reasons over the weekend. While the march lacks official clearance, police officials indicated they might permit a small, designated group to wave the national flag and sing the anthem at an alternative location.

The demonstration was organized amid ongoing tensions between the CJP and law enforcement regarding protests directed against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, following the judicial custody of CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka after an incident at Jantar Mantar. Student groups, activists, and supporters of the Aam Aadmi Party are also anticipated to participate.

Delhi Police spokesperson Neha Yadav reiterated that the march is unauthorized and that orders under Section 163 of the BNSS prohibiting mass gatherings remain active in Connaught Place and surrounding zones. Local market and trade associations have submitted written appeals asking for commercial protection, citing concerns that large demonstrations harm business operations. Authorities have urged citizens to avoid unauthorized assemblies and warned that strict measures will be taken against anyone violating public order directives.
