Bharti Airtel has rolled out three prepaid recharge options that exclude bundled mobile data, with pricing beginning at Rs 185. These new packages supply unlimited voice calling and a designated allotment of text messages, providing an alternative for subscribers who wish to bypass internet charges they do not utilize. Airtel has verified the introduction, and the packages are currently available on its official website and mobile application.

The introduction arrives prior to the October 21 mandate established by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, which requires telecom service providers to furnish distinct voice-and-SMS-only recharge selections.

The Rs 185 package represents the lowest-priced entry among the three new offerings, delivering unlimited local, national, and roaming calls alongside 300 text messages over a 28-day period. Because it contains no internet data allocation, it targets consumers whose mobile usage centers exclusively on traditional calls and messaging.

A second option priced at Rs 203 supplies identical calling and messaging privileges while extending the active window to 30 days. For an additional cost of Rs 18, users gain two extra days of service, appealing to those who favor a predictable monthly replenishment schedule over a 28-day cycle.

A third choice priced at Rs 206 provides a one-month validity period. Similar to its counterparts, this tier encompasses unlimited calling and 300 text messages devoid of mobile data. Additionally, Airtel bundles complimentary HelloTunes with all three tiers, permitting subscribers to modify their caller tune monthly without additional expenses.

The regulatory push began in September when authorities instructed telecom companies to launch specialized tariff vouchers for voice communication and messaging independent of data bundles, establishing October 21 as the compliance deadline. This initiative aims to assist consumers who lack a need for mobile internet by providing more fitting recharge choices under a 30-day or shorter validity framework.

While competitor Reliance Jio also provides voice-exclusive recharges, its existing options are tailored toward extended durations, such as an 84-day pack and a 336-day package. Airtel's shorter-cycle tiers cater to users seeking lower upfront expenses, including feature phone operators, secondary number holders, and individuals utilizing Wi-Fi connections for internet access.
