Jhansi: Two men in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi were taken into custody by local authorities after a video showing them performing hazardous stunts while hanging from a moving vehicle went viral on social media. Following their arrest, the pair was captured on camera offering visible apologies with folded hands and holding their ears while promising never to repeat the reckless behavior.
The viral footage, which emerged on October 17, depicted the individuals dangling perilously from the exterior of a moving automobile, a maneuver that carried a high risk of severe injury. The clip quickly drew the attention of law enforcement officials, who initiated an immediate inquiry to track down the culprits and the vehicle involved.
Investigators successfully identified and arrested the two participants, named as Ansh Prajapati and Shivam Ahirwar, alongside seizing the car used in the recording. Confronted by the consequences of their actions, their initial bravado vanished as they stood before police officers and the camera, holding their ears and pledging to avoid similar mistakes in the future.
Station in-charge Ravi Srivastava confirmed that formal charges have been filed against the pair under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, specifically Sections 118(2), 115(2), 352, and 351(3). Following the registration of the case, the accused were presented before a local court.
Authorities noted that executing such perilous routines on public roads not only threatens the safety of the participants but also puts surrounding drivers and pedestrians at extreme risk. The episode highlights the growing trend of dangerous vehicle stunts driven by the pursuit of social media attention, which frequently leads to severe legal repercussions.
