A young orangutan has been successfully rescued from the destructive wildfires currently sweeping across Borneo Island in Indonesia. The animal sustained painful burns to both her hands and feet as a result of the intense blazes.
Following her rescue, the injured primate was transferred to an animal hospital, where she is currently receiving necessary medical treatment and care. Conservation efforts have intensified as dozens of other orangutans are also being saved from the widespread fires that continue to cause massive destruction to their natural habitats in the region.
