Conservative commentator Katie Zacharia has been offered the position of White House press secretary, a White House official confirmed.

Zacharia currently serves as a communications adviser at the Trump Media & Technology Group. If she assumes the role, she would become the president's sixth chief spokesperson across his two administrations. Her prior experience includes a brief tenure as a spokesperson at the Department of Homeland Security.

Former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt departed the administration in August and has reportedly accepted a position with Fox News.

Requests for comment have been sent to Zacharia regarding the offer.
