Artist Rehan Vadra has broken his silence regarding the recent controversy involving his photography exhibition at New Delhi's Bikaner House, where management asked him to take down a significant portion of his displayed works. Speaking about the incident, Vadra emphasized that cultural institutions have a fundamental duty to protect and support art and the creators they host.

While Bikaner House authorities maintained that the exhibition violated internal guidelines, Vadra chose to speak out rather than accept the removal of roughly two-thirds of his showcased pieces quietly. He noted that he remains uncertain whether outside political pressures influenced the management's decision to censor parts of the collection.

Following the dispute, Vadra is actively looking for alternative gallery spaces in New Delhi to exhibit the removed photographs in full. Additionally, he is preparing for another upcoming exhibition scheduled to take place in Bengaluru.
