Beau Lamarre-Condon was captured on camera purchasing food from a McDonald's drive-thru while operating a van that was allegedly used to transport the bodies of two victims. Lamarre-Condon, 31, faces charges for the alleged fatal shooting of Sydney residents Jesse Baird and Luke Davies utilizing his official police firearm inside Baird's home in Paddington on February 19, 2024. He has entered a plea of not guilty to two charges of murder alongside an accusation of aggravated break and enter.
Newly presented court exhibits trace the movements of the former officer in the immediate aftermath of the alleged double homicide. Video evidence shows Lamarre-Condon at a McDonald's location in Sutton Forest during the early morning hours of February 22, 2024, situated approximately 30 kilometers away from the site where the remains of Baird and Davies were allegedly discarded. The recording depicts him driving up in a white van, completing payment for his meal, and subsequently collecting a paper bag and beverage at the pickup window.
This footage represents the latest piece of visual evidence presented to the jury during the ongoing trial in the New South Wales Supreme Court. Previous court sessions featured video tracking his activities the day after the suspected shootings, displaying him near Baird's residence with a bucket, visiting various automated teller machines for cash withdrawals, and purchasing cleaning supplies at a Bunnings warehouse in Alexandria.
Additional footage from the evening of February 20, 2024, recorded Lamarre-Condon and an acquaintance eating at a Cronulla sushi restaurant before taking a stroll along the local beach esplanade. Later that evening, the pair visited the Cronulla Bowls Club, where the companion pointed out several skip bins before Lamarre-Condon allegedly returned to the location unaccompanied hours later. Items bearing bloodstains belonging to Baird and Davies were subsequently discovered inside those bins the following morning.
Further video evidence presented to the court detailed his schedule two days after the alleged incident. Around 7:30 am on February 21, 2024, hospital security cameras recorded Lamarre-Condon arriving at St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney for minor medical procedures, occurring one day after he allegedly sanitized the crime scene. Additional surveillance from a Bunnings store in Rockdale showed him navigating the aisles with a cart and purchasing items including protective gloves, a shovel, a wheelbarrow, and concrete mix.
Later that afternoon, security footage from a Bunnings branch in Goulburn documented the defendant and a friend engaging with a retail employee and purchasing an angle grinder and a padlock. The remains of Baird and Davies were ultimately located in the rural area of Bungonia several days later.
During the proceedings, the defense has argued that the two men were shot unintentionally when the accused acted in self-defense. Defense counsel John Stratton SC stated that Lamarre-Condon experienced severe panic, leading him to clean the scene and dispose of the bodies. The trial, presided over by Justice Natalie Adams, remains ongoing.
