A major fire erupted at an apartment building located on Peach Lane in Old Bridge, Middlesex County, New Jersey, sending heavy flames through the roof and resulting in a partial structural collapse. The emergency response quickly escalated, leading to a fourth-alarm mutual aid request as multiple crews battled the blaze.
The incident was reported at 32 Peach Lane, Suite B, situated in the Cheesequake section of Old Bridge. While initial emergency notifications characterized the incident as a third-alarm response, conditions rapidly worsened, prompting commanders to request a fourth alarm.
Local fire-tracking organizations, including Central Jersey Fire Buffs, reported that the fire had breached the roof of the multi-unit residential building. Additional updates indicated that a partial collapse had occurred at the rear of the structure, designated as the Charlie side.
First responders worked to safely evacuate the building as firefighting operations continued at the scene. The escalating nature of the fire drew widespread mutual aid assistance from surrounding jurisdictions to help contain the heavy flames and manage the compromised structure.
