New Delhi: One person was killed and several others sustained injuries after a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus struck pedestrians along DBG Road in the Anand Parbat neighborhood on Saturday. Law enforcement authorities have launched a search effort to trace the driver of the bus.
According to eyewitness accounts from the scene, a woman was operating the vehicle at the time of the crash. Witnesses reported that multiple individuals were struck, resulting in one fatality at the scene, and that a two-wheeler remained trapped underneath the bus following the impact. Before police officers arrived at the location, angry crowds threw stones at the bus, causing damage to its windowpanes.
In a separate unrelated traffic tragedy earlier the same day, eight passengers lost their lives and more than six others suffered injuries when a bus overturned along the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan's Kota district. District officials confirmed that the fatalities were brought into medical facilities, while critical patients were transferred to intensive care units for urgent treatment.
Local station house officers reported that the injured passengers from the expressway crash were admitted to nearby hospitals for ongoing care. That particular vehicle had been transporting passengers from Madhya Pradesh toward Khatu Shyam before the rollover accident occurred.
