Chennai: The DMK organized a gathering of its parliamentary delegates at the party headquarters in Chennai to deliberate on matters connected to the Special Intensive Revision process. During the session, the party voiced clear backing for youth and student-led demonstrations, noting that representatives have been participating in protests to stand alongside ordinary citizens.
As part of its strategy moving forward, the party resolved to request an appointment with the President to present a formal memorandum. This document will urge the complete dismantling of the SIR process and advocate for restoring traditional ballot papers in upcoming elections.
According to the party leadership, widespread voter deletions during the implementation of the process directly contributed to its defeat in previous assembly polls. Additionally, the party maintained its stance that it will not forge any electoral alliance with the Congress party under any circumstances.
