New Delhi: YouTuber Sourav Joshi found himself facing backlash after a playful game of truth or dare with his wife, Avantika, took an uncomfortable turn when he challenged her to drink water from their pet dog's bowl.
Joshi, who boasts a subscriber base of over 42.2 million on YouTube, was participating in a spin-the-bottle variation of truth or dare alongside Avantika and several friends when the controversial moment occurred.
In a widely shared video circulating on social media, Joshi spins the bottle, which ultimately points toward his wife. He then issues a dare requiring her to consume water directly from the family pet's feeding vessel. Avantika initially declines, visibly startled and taken aback by the request.
Despite her hesitation, Joshi pushes forward with the challenge. He retrieves the bowl himself, approaches her, and insists that she needs to take only a single small sip. Feeling pressured, Avantika complies and drinks from the container, immediately making a grimace that clearly highlights her discomfort.
While the stunt may have been conceived as a lighthearted joke for the game, it failed to amuse a large segment of the audience. Viewers quickly took to the comments to voice their disapproval, raising serious questions about sanitation and health risks. One commenter cautioned that consuming water from an animal dish could jeopardize someone's health, while another suggested that whether the performance was scripted or genuine, asking a partner to participate in such a humiliating act was deeply troubling. A third critic expressed bewilderment that an educated person would agree to take part in what appeared to be a staged social media stunt.
