New Delhi: Several prominent trade associations in Delhi, featuring representatives from major commercial hubs like Khan Market and the Delhi Kirana Committee, have formally approached the Supreme Court to seek intervention against recurring protests in central Delhi. Business owners explained that continuous demonstrations and subsequent police restrictions during the peak festive season have resulted in severe financial setbacks, calculating that citywide retail and wholesale trade deficits reach between 2,000 and 3,000 crore rupees daily.

Shopkeepers voiced serious anxieties regarding high commercial rental costs, employee salary obligations, and plummeting customer footfall caused by widespread public concern over ongoing agitation events. In response to the grievances raised by the commercial community, Cockroach Janata Party founder Abhijit Dipke countered that local enterprises do not incur losses because of peaceful assemblies, but rather due to the administrative and police strategies that implement heavy blockades, cut off internet access, and limit overall urban transit.

Amidst these tensions, the Delhi Police noted that traffic management measures and restrictions have been established in the vicinity of Connaught Place's Central Park, even though retail commercial markets continue to function and remain open to the public.
