Three AAP MLAs Join BJP; Extortion, Drugs, Gangster Culture Flagged as AAP Hit by Exits in PunjabIn a major political setback for the ruling Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab, three sitting MLAs—former police officer Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, former health minister Chetan Singh Jauramajra, and Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra—officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. Welcoming them into the party fold, Punjab BJP chief Kewal Singh Dhillon claimed that leaders are abandoning the AAP due to unfulfilled promises, rising corruption, and failures in tackling the drug crisis across the state.
Addressing the media after switching sides, Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh criticised the AAP administration, stating that extortion has turned into an industry, gangsterism and drug abuse are at their peak, and the state's education system and economy are collapsing under mounting debt. Describing his tenure with AAP as an internship that has concluded, he expressed faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership to restore peace, prosperity, and dignity to Punjab.
