The Supreme Court has formally disposed of petitions alleging the theft of donations intended for Ayodhya's Ram Mandir after receiving confirmation from the Uttar Pradesh government that a charge sheet has been successfully filed in the case.
A bench headed by the Chief Justice instructed the local magistrate to proceed with the matter strictly in accordance with the law. Recognizing the significant public interest surrounding the case, the apex court granted permission for the petitioners to assist the trial court during the criminal proceedings, functioning in a capacity similar to how victims are typically permitted to assist in trials.
During the hearing, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta informed the bench that investigators successfully established a financial trail during the Special Investigation Team probe. According to the findings, investigators traced how the accused individuals allegedly misappropriated the donated funds and subsequently invested the money into various properties.
