Gwalior: A mobile phone suddenly exploded in a patient's hand inside a clinic in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior on Sunday, triggering a fire and panic among patients and staff. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed at the clinic.
The event took place at Drishti Skin and Child Clinic, where the patient had arrived for a consultation with Dr Ashutosh Sharma. The situation took an alarming turn when the mobile phone unexpectedly burst into flames while the individual was holding it.
The explosion caused significant alarm inside the facility, particularly because newborn babies and other patients were present on the premises at the time. The sudden fire raised fears of a larger mishap as people scrambled to respond to the unfolding emergency.
As soon as the phone caught fire, clinic staff stationed nearby rushed to the location and immediately began efforts to put out the flames. They poured water on the burning device and managed to bring the fire under control before the situation could escalate further.
The prompt response from the staff helped prevent the fire from spreading inside the healthcare center, ensuring that the newborns and other vulnerable patients remained safe. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
The entire sequence of events, from the sudden mobile phone explosion and resulting fire to the staff's intervention, was recorded by the clinic's surveillance cameras. The footage highlights how quickly a minor device failure can create a dangerous situation and how rapid intervention averted a serious accident.
