A routine hospital visit following a motorcycle accident in Edappal resulted in the arrest of a man after medical staff discovered 21.42 grams of suspected MDMA hidden inside his clothing.
The injured individual, identified as Sibin from Chirangantodi House in Amayur, Pattambi, had been admitted to the hospital for treatment following the vehicular crash. While examining the patient, a doctor noticed a packet containing the suspected narcotic substance within his pocket and immediately notified hospital authorities.
Upon receiving the alert, officers from the Perinthalmanna police station arrived at the medical facility to inspect the material. Authorities confirmed the substance was MDMA and formally placed the man under arrest, seizing the total 21.42 grams of the drug.
Law enforcement officials have launched a broader investigation to determine whether the suspect is connected to a larger drug trafficking network. Investigators are working to trace the origin of the narcotics and identify any potential accomplices involved in their supply and distribution.
