Temple, the brain-tracking wearable, is set to go on pre-order from November 1. The company has already begun teasing it online to build anticipation.
Deepinder Goyal, the company's CEO, nowadays seems to be active on X (formerly Twitter), answering questions, clearing doubts, and providing insights about the upcoming product. Recently, while answering some of X users' questions, Goyal confirmed that Temple users can share their data with doctors and revealed details about device replacement policies.Priyanshu Goswami, who goes by the username @darksentry312 on X, asked, “Just curious all the data that will be collected through this, can we share it with our doctors in future?” Goyal replied, "Yes," confirming users' expectations.
Goyal was also asked by another user whether the phrase ‘device replacements at a nominal fee’ on the website meant users could upgrade to a newer model for a small fee. He clarified that the offer was for replacing lost devices – “This doesn't include new models.”What Temple brings to the tableSo, what makes Temple different from other wearables?
Its main focus is what happens inside your brain. The device tracks changes in cerebral blood flow and signals linked to brain oxygenation and cognitive load.
The idea is to help users understand how their bodies respond to stress, exercise and recovery.Temple also offers an Entropy score ranging from 1 to 250, which is designed to indicate physiological strain. Factors such as sleep, exercise, stress and caffeine can influence this score.
However, the wearable is meant for wellness and research, not medical diagnosis. Another interesting bit is that Temple is designed to stay in place during everyday activities and workouts.
It attaches to the skin using disposable adhesive tapes called Grips, and Goyal says users can wear it while running, swimming or even showering. The company also claims that its compact design allows it to sit comfortably under glasses.
The company promises a lifetime subscription that includes access to all app features and personal onboarding with a one-on-one introduction to Temple.Temple's first batch is priced at Rs 85,000. The wearable will be available in six colours: True Gold, Rose Gold, Black Mirror, Real Jade, Deep Blue and Purple Funk.
However, if you prefer something a little different, Real Jade, Deep Blue and Purple Funk are limited-edition options.- Ends
