Opposition Meets President Over Poll Rigging Claims, To Move Supreme Court
A ten-member delegation of INDIA bloc leaders met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan to submit a memorandum alleging vote rigging. Following four days of protests that included marches to the Election Commission headquarters, Jantar Mantar, and Raj Ghat, opposition leaders presented their concerns over electoral integrity and demanded a return to ballot papers. Delegation members stated that the President sought evidence regarding their claims, which they agreed to provide. Opposition leaders also announced plans to approach the Supreme Court with a petition, demanding that the Chief Election Commissioner resign and seeking a review of how elections are conducted.
