Delhi Traffic Snarls, Internet Blockade & Heavy Security Amid Planned Protest
Central Delhi witnessed extensive security arrangements, traffic bottlenecks, and internet disruptions as authorities prepared for planned protests by the CJP. Multiple checkpoints were set up across key intersections, including the Noida-Delhi border and central locations such as ITO, Connaught Place, and Jantar Mantar. The Delhi Police and paramilitary forces, including female personnel and BSF officers, were deployed with riot gear to monitor vehicular movement, conduct identity checks, and detain protesters attempting to gather. Commuters faced severe traffic snarls and communication outages due to an internet shutdown covering areas around Jantar Mantar and beyond. Furthermore, entry and exit points at 45 Delhi Metro stations were shut following an SC directive, causing major disruptions for regular commuters across the national capital.
