Delhi Fortified Ahead Of CJP Protest At Jantar Mantar, Metro Stations Shut

Delhi has been placed under heavy security ahead of a proposed protest by the Congress Janta Party at Jantar Mantar, for which organisers do not have police permission. Sweeping security measures have been enforced across the capital, including the deployment of more than twenty thousand security personnel, with over sixty-five hundred personnel stationed around the sensitive zone near Jantar Mantar. Seven layers of barricading, over three hundred fresh CCTV cameras, and twelve detention centres have been set up. Additionally, fifty-seven metro stations have been shut and internet services suspended within a four-kilometre radius. Security forces including Delhi Police, the Central Reserve Police Force, and the Rapid Action Force have deployed riot control vehicles and conducted flag marches. Prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita have been imposed, with strict security checks and multi-layer barricading set up at border entry points including the Chilla border.
