Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday launched a scathing attack on former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), accusing him and his family members of attempting to grab government land across the state. He also claimed that his government had protected properties worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore over the past three years. His remarks came a day after the Supreme Court dismissed petitions filed by private individuals claiming ownership of more than 550 acres of prime land in Miyapur, in a major victory for the Telangana government in a 23-year-old legal battle.

The Supreme Court upheld the findings of High Court and the Special Court for Land Grabbing Cases, both of which had ruled that the disputed land belonged to the state government.Citing the verdict, which upheld the government's ownership of Miyapur land parcels valued at around Rs 50,000 crore, Revanth Reddy alleged that KCR, his relative Damodar Rao and Goldstone Prasad were involved in an attempt to illegally acquire the prime property.Addressing a press conference in Delhi, the Chief Minister thanked the Supreme Court for what he described as a historic verdict. He accused KCR, his family members and other BRS leaders of attempting to encroach upon government land in Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana.

Revanth Reddy further alleged that luxury cars were given as bribes to Damodar Rao in connection with the Miyapur land deal, while KCR had allegedly received kickbacks in cash. The Chief Minister said he had fought against the alleged encroachments as an MLA, MP and TPCC president, and claimed that he was sent to jail as part of a political vendetta for raising the issue. Revanth Reddy said the state government had presented strong arguments before the courts to protect the Miyapur lands.

Following the Supreme Court verdict, he had directed officials to take appropriate measures to safeguard the properties. He said the government was considering selling the valuable land and using the proceeds to fund development activities, particularly in irrigation, education and healthcare. The proposal would be placed before the state Cabinet for discussion.Claiming that his government had protected government lands worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore over the past three years, Revanth Reddy cited several instances of alleged encroachments that were thwarted through legal intervention. He alleged that BRS leaders had attempted to grab IMG lands in collusion with members of the Bhale Rao family, but the government foiled the move through legal action. He also referred to the Kancha Gachibowli and Mamidipally lands, alleging that BRS leaders had attempted to take over the properties but failed following legal battles. On the Gurramguda forest lands, the Chief Minister said the government had approached the Supreme Court to protect the properties allegedly targeted by associates of KTR.

He added that the court had upheld the forest status of the land following the government's legal battle.Revanth Reddy further alleged that KTR, in association with Rayalaseema Builders, had attempted to encroach upon 143 acres in Manchirevula. He said the government protected the land and established a school there for the children of police personnel. He also cited the protection of 400 acres of forest land in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district, which he alleged had been allotted as a gift to an MLA who defected to the BRS.

The government fought the matter in the Supreme Court and secured the land, he said. The Chief Minister added that the government had also prevented alleged land encroachments by BRS leaders in Bhadradri Kothagudem district.A Cabinet sub-committee constituted for resource mobilisation would examine the proposed sale of these lands and recommend development projects that could be funded through the proceeds, he said.Revanth Reddy urged BRS leaders to stop what he described as conspiracies over the Miyapur lands and reiterated that the proceeds from their proposed sale would be used for educational development. He challenged them to attend the Assembly and participate in a discussion on alleged land encroachments. He further alleged that KCR had exploited a dispute between two villages to his advantage.

The government would investigate the alleged encroachments in the area and develop the site into Sri Kantha Chary Amaraveerula Colony, he said.Revanth Reddy urged KCR and KTR to change their approach and stop alleged land encroachments, adding that courts were delivering verdicts against such attempts.- Ends
