Tesla claims that this monthly payment is comparable to the instalment for a well-equipped petrol SUV.The company estimates that owners can save around Rs 20,000 every month on fuel and maintenance compared to an internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle.
These savings are based on reduced expenditure on fuel, engine oil, scheduled servicing and brake components.Tesla also points to the Model Y's lower maintenance requirements, owing to its electric powertrain. The SUV does not require engine oil changes, spark plug replacements or conventional multi-speed transmission servicing.
Its regenerative braking system also helps reduce wear on the brake pads. The company further highlights OTA software updates as an ownership benefit, allowing new features and improvements to be delivered directly to the vehicle.Subscribe to Auto Today Magazine - Ends
