Delhi Borders Sealed, Connaught Place Barricaded Over Planned CJP Protest

Delhi Police have intensified security measures across the national capital and its borders ahead of a planned protest by the CJP. Youth and commuters travelling from Noida and Gurugram towards Old Delhi and Central Delhi are being stopped at checkpoints, questioned, and instructed to turn back to prevent potential violence. Over 20,000 security personnel have been deployed across New Delhi, with Connaught Place divided into 20 sectors commanded by senior IPS officers conducting continuous flag marches. Key transport hubs, borders, metro stations, and railway stations are under strict surveillance, and individuals entering the area are being frisked. The police denied permission for the agitation after organizers failed to specify expected crowd numbers for Jantar Mantar, which rendered the gathering unlawful according to authorities. Delhi Police cited last-minute applications and lack of participant estimates as key security risks.
