Delhi Fortified for CJP Stir, Over 150 Detained as 20,000 Security Personnel Deployed
The national capital has been fortified with massive security arrangements to manage the planned CJP stir. Delhi Police confirmed that more than 150 protesters have already been detained in buses across the city and at borders, including the Noida-Delhi border. Over 20,000 security personnel and more than 200 companies of Central Armed Police Forces have been deployed on the ground, especially across Central Delhi, Connaught Place, and border access points. Connaught Place has been divided into 20 circuits, each commanded by a Deputy Commissioner of Police or Indian Police Service officer carrying out flag marches. Emergency spike strips have been placed on standby to intercept suspicious vehicles. To bolster surveillance and accountability, lower-ranking personnel such as constables and inspectors have been equipped with body cameras. Authorities clarified that public movement remains open, but anyone intending to participate in the unauthorised demonstration will face immediate detention and strict legal action.
