Delhi Police Detain Cockroach Janta Party Leaders Inside Aircraft at Airport

Delhi Police and security personnel detained Cockroach Janta Party convener Abhijeet Dipke and co-conveners Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka from inside an aircraft shortly after landing at Delhi airport from Mumbai. The preventative detention occurred ahead of a planned demonstration in the national capital, with police officials entering the plane while passengers were instructed to remain seated. The detained leaders were subsequently escorted into a bus stationed inside the airport terminal area amid heavy deployment of Central Industrial Security Force personnel. According to the broadcast, Delhi Police enforced heightened security arrangements and preventative custody citing previous vandalism during gatherings in July. The political group and its supporters raised questions regarding restrictions on assembly and the fundamental right to protest.
