Rahul Gandhi In Chennai For Chhatron Ki Goonj, Meets CM Vijay Amid High Turnout

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi arrived in Chennai to address the Chhatron Ki Goonj student outreach event held at Island Grounds. The event, held for the first time in Tamil Nadu under the title Manavar Gallin Kural, saw college students gather from various institutions, including Loyola College, Women's Christian College, Madras Christian College, and Pachaiyappa's College. The gathering focuses on addressing student concerns, particularly opposition to the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. Musical performances by Arivu and the band Thaikkudam Bridge were scheduled to entertain the crowd before the address. Alongside the student event, political optics drew attention as Rahul Gandhi met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay at his residence for lunch, followed by coffee at a Palavakkam cafe. The visit follows by-poll victories in Madurai Kuttam and Dharampur, highlighting Congress efforts to build youth engagement and political ties in the state.
