Maleesha Kharwa: 'Beauty Has Nothing To Do With Skin Color'
In an interview, model Maleesha Kharwa spoke about her journey from living in Mumbai's slums to building an international career in modeling. Discovered in 2020 by American actor and manager Robert Hoffman, Kharwa addressed redefining fashion norms, asserting, "I personally think beauty has nothing to do with skin color." Reflecting on her identity and heritage, she stated that she takes pride in being a brown girl and always carries Indian culture with her, from wearing a bindi at every event to eating with her hands. Kharwa also highlighted her creative inspirations, naming Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone as prominent role models. Discussing her aspirations, she revealed her desire to work with Indian designer Sabyasachi, branch into Bollywood acting, and continue professional dance training in ballet and jazz alongside her college business studies.
