Delhi Cantt: CJP Core Team Released on Bail, Protests Subside on Day Two
Live visuals from outside Delhi Cantt Police Station showed the release of Citizen for Justice and Peace core team members Abhijeet Deepke, Saurabh Das, and Ashutosh Ranka alongside legal head Ratna Singh following a magistrate's order. The leaders had been held under preventive detention amid ongoing demonstrations in the national capital. On day two of the stir, crowd turnouts around Jantar Mantar remained significantly lower compared to the previous day, when heavy detentions of participants from left-leaning student groups occurred. Conditions attached to the release reportedly bar the leaders from participating further in the protests or entering New Delhi territory under prohibitory orders. Heavy police arrangements and barricading remained deployed around the station as the leaders walked out.
