Delhi Police Alert Over CJP Protests, Flag March Held, Over 20 FIRs Filed
Delhi Police remained on high alert following calls for a protest march towards Jantar Mantar by the CJP. Security personnel, including central paramilitary forces and reserve police units equipped with anti-riot gear, conducted a flag march in Connaught Place. Additional women police personnel were also deployed to manage female demonstrators. Meanwhile, Delhi Police registered over 20 FIRs in connection with previous protest attempts in the New Delhi area, where restrictions under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita were in place. The charges pressed against demonstrators include obstructing official duty, assaulting police personnel, and taking the law into their own hands, amid complaints of stone-pelting and breaches of peace. Additionally, key figures including Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das, and Ashutosh Ranka were released from preventive custody under a magistrate's order requiring them to maintain peace for one year, while authorities continue investigating viral videos and further complaints.
