Delhi Police Release CJP Leaders, Section 163 Imposed Ahead of Planned Protest

Delhi Police released Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke alongside co-conveners Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka after over twenty hours in preventive custody, following an order from a special executive magistrate. The leaders had been detained directly from their flight upon arrival in the national capital ahead of a planned agitation. Under the terms of the surety bond, the trio must maintain peace for one year, with authorities warning that any disruption of public order could trigger immediate arrest. Delhi Police maintained heavy security deployments across New Delhi and Jantar Mantar, where Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita remains enforced, prohibiting gatherings of more than five persons. Authorities noted that permission for the Jantar Mantar demonstration had been rejected, explaining that large-scale protests exceeding one thousand people require relocation to Ramlila Maidan subject to municipal approvals. Police reiterated that unauthorised gatherings anywhere across the designated high-security zones will face preventive detention.
