Actor Sreeleela is expanding her portfolio in Tamil cinema by joining the ensemble cast of Dharman, which stars Rajinikanth under the direction of Ashwath Marimuthu, recognized for his work on Oh My Kadavule and Dragon. The casting announcement was made by Kamal Haasan's production banner, Raaj Kamal Films International, marking the actor's inaugural collaboration with the superstar. Welcoming her to the movie, the production team shared a promotional video highlighting her entry into the project.
The feature also stars Simran, Nayanthara, Yogi Babu, and Raashii Khanna. Dharman represents the first time filmmaker Ashwath Marimuthu is directing Rajinikanth. Early promotional material indicates that the leading man portrays a physician, with the creators teasing a morally complex persona reminiscent of his classic 1978 movie Mullum Malarum, while additional posters display him with bloodstained hands to suggest a character with gray shades. Production wrapped its third schedule in September, bringing principal photography close to its final stages.
Sreeleela entered the Tamil film industry earlier this year with Parasakthi alongside Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, and Atharvaa, and has since secured roles in other major ventures including Om alongside Dhanush and Mammootty, as well as Daredevil with Ajith Kumar. Dharman is being bankrolled by Raaj Kamal Films International in collaboration with R Mahendran of Turmeric Media.
The technical crew features composer Anirudh Ravichander, maintaining his ongoing collaboration with Rajinikanth following projects such as Petta, Darbar, Jailer, Vettaiyan, Coolie, and Jailer 2. The behind-the-scenes team also comprises cinematographer Niketh Bommi, stunt directors Anbariv, editor Pradeep E Ragav, and production designer Karthik Rajkumar. An official theatrical release date has not yet been announced, though industry reports indicate the team is targeting an April 2027 premiere.
