A 14-year-old boy died after a container lorry rammed into an auto-rickshaw at the Kommadi junction on NH-16 in the early hours of Saturday (October 24, 2026). The deceased has been identified as B.
Dhanush.According to the police, the accident occurred around 12:50 a.m. Dhanush was travelling with his friends toward Kommadi when the incident took place.
The collision occurred as the auto-rickshaw was negotiating a right turn toward the service road at the junction. A container lorry, allegedly driven in a rash and negligent manner, crashed into the three-wheeler.
The lorry driver allegedly fled the scene.Dhanush, who sustained serious injuries, was initially shifted to a private hospital and later moved to King George Hospital (KGH) for further treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
