LAKSHMI NARAYANAN AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami has alleged that the law and order situation in Tamil Nadu was in an extremely dire state. He listed several incidents reflecting the prevailing law and order conditions and questioned the inaction of the government. āReports that a woman was hacked to death by an unidentified intruder inside her house near Sathankulam, a young boy who sought a lift went missing near Uthangarai in Krishnagiri district, and a student died due to caste discrimination at a government-aided school in Coimbatore are deeply shocking.
What action has been taken over the death of a student due to caste discrimination under this regime, which merely invokes āsocial justiceā in its rhetoric?ā Mr. Palaniswami asked.Pointing out that the young girl who went missing in Gingee has still not been traced, he asked whether the government had not even suspected that the repeated disappearances of children might be following a pattern.Mr.
Palaniswami urged the government to conduct an intensive investigation into the disappearances of children from all angles and demanded stringent action regarding the incidents in Coimbatore and Sathankulam. Published - October 25, 2026 12:22 am IST
