(Credit: Instagram/@urf7i)Uorfi Javed has alleged that her housing society committee introduced a rule barring her from shooting content inside her home.
The reality television star said the restrictions followed her decision to call the police over another rule requiring residents to obtain their landlords' permission for guests entering their flats after 6 pm.In a series of Instagram Stories on October 27, Uorfi accused the committee of harassing her and restricting visitors suspected of carrying cameras or shooting equipment. She also recalled an earlier rule under which guests, including those visiting for shoots or interviews, were allegedly stopped from entering the society after 10 pm without an email from the owner.Sharing details of the latest restriction, Uorfi wrote, “My society committee has introduced a new rule to harass me — I can't shoot any content in my own house!”According to Uorfi, the committee argued that her shoots amounted to commercial activity because the content was uploaded on social media and contributed to her popularity.
In a separate Instagram Story, she wrote, “This hurt their fragile male ego. They told my landlord to kick me out, which she didn't, so now four or five men have had to use such low-level tactics to harass me.
Kind of proud of myself.” Uorfi further alleged that society members were preventing visitors from entering her home if they suspected them of carrying cameras or other shooting equipment. She claimed that her guests' bags were being checked and questioned whether the restrictions were legal.“Every other person shoots content in their house.
How is this rule even legal? What I do in my own house is my business,” she wrote.Earlier dispute over visitorsUorfi had previously raised a similar complaint on X.
She said her society had introduced a rule barring guests from entering the premises after 10 pm, including those visiting for work-related shoots or interviews. She alleged that people had also been physically stopped from entering her home.“So my society has a new rule: no guests allowed after 10 pm, and even for interviews or shoots, they will not allow anyone unless the owner has emailed them.
They physically stopped people from entering my house,” she wrote. On the work front, Uorfi was most recently seen hosting Splitsvilla X6 alongside Sunny Leone, Karan Kundrra and Nia Sharma.- Ends
