Actor Salman Khan was spotted at Mumbai’s private airport on Tuesday morning surrounded by a heavily upgraded security detail, reflecting a heightened threat perception across the film industry following the October 18 assassination attempt on actor Tiger Shroff.
Dressed in a dark navy blue button-down shirt with rolled-up sleeves, dark denim jeans, black boots, and aviator sunglasses, the actor stepped out of his vehicle accompanied by armed Special Protection Unit officers wielding automatic weapons.
The enhanced protocol follows Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s recent assurance to review security arrangements for film industry personalities after meeting Tiger Shroff at his residence. Three individuals have so far been detained by police in connection with the attack on Shroff.
The security protocol around Khan has been reinforced on high priority amid recurring threats linked to jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Following the firing incident, two men claiming to represent the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu, claimed responsibility for the attack in an X post and issued fresh threats against those working with Salman Khan.
The online statement asserted responsibility for the incident involving Shroff and warned that anyone in the Mumbai film industry who refuses to listen or continues working with Salman Khan would be targeted next.
The gang also issued warnings directed at rival groups attempting to claim credit for the incident.
Meanwhile, the All Indian Cine Workers Association has condemned the firing at Shroff in Mumbai. The film body urged state leadership to take strict action against those responsible and questioned how Hindi film personalities can feel safe when such violent incidents continue to occur in the city.
